The growing awareness of the potential harm conventional c-collars, backboards, and out dated cervical management protocols have led to a change in the management of trauma patients. More agencies are implementing selective spinal immobilization protocol which have been reducing the number of patients that are backboarded and improve the quality of patient care. The XCollar is a cervical splinting technology designed to be the perfect complement for these kinds of new protocols.

We are the Emergency Care Professionals that identified shortfalls in conventional c-collars and problems with the standard of care that was being provided to patients with potential cervical spine injuries. In 2005 we set out to develop the world’s first cervical splinting system specially designed for pre-hospital use.
We continuously focus on listening to field feedback and research clinical evidence to improve our technology and allow EMS agencies to have the best tools at their disposal. This has led EMS agencies with the confidence to develop their own Cervical Splinting Protocols based around our technology.
Over ten years of challenging the status quo in EMS has allowed Emegear to develop multiple versions of the original XCollar Cervical Splinting System that now assist rescuers to better care for their patients in over 45 different countries around the world.
We believe in EMS agencies doing their best for their patient and their community, so we must provide EMS agencies with the best tools to get the job done. We never know when it may be our time to be treated in an emergency, but when it is we want to make sure that the EMS agency caring for us has the best equipment available.
