XCollar™ Application Manual

Training Use

The XCollar is designed for single patient use. Reusing the XCollar is not consistent with most health standards and local protocols. If the XCollar is to be used for training purposes, it should be restored to its original packing condition for each subsequent use. The following steps will ensure proper future deployment:
  1. Retract Adjustable Chest Support -- Lift the Locking Buttons and return/retract the Adjustable Chest Support to its fully closed, or retracted position. Leave the Locking Buttons unlocked.
  2. Reset Chin Strap -- if the Chin Strap has been adjusted, reset it so that the Velcro strap is secured to itself with the free end about 1.0" (2.5 cm) away from the other end.
  3. Fully extend the XCollar lengthwise - Release the Right Side Strap (without the buckle) Velcro, pull the Back Support and Chin Support away from each other until the collar is in its fully extended, or longest position, and reattach the Velcro.
  4. Reset the Buckle Strap -- Release Velcro, adjust the buckle and reattach the Velcro so that the free end of the strap just covers the "XCollar" logo molded into the plastic in the middle of the Back Support. Make sure the buckle is in the middle of the loop of its strap.
  5. Reset the X Straps -- fold the straps approximately in thirds and push back into their holding brackets. Approximately 2"-3" of the Velcro ends should extend freely out from the brackets for access during later deployment.
  6. Fold the Back Support -- Fold the Back Extension back up and lock in place with the retaining tab.
  7. Push/Slide the Back Support and Chin Support together then return the XCollar into its plastic storage bag. The XCollar is now ready for future training.
